Agree with Cavin. The 50mm, although it is f1.8, could wait. Invest on the VR technology, there's nothing compared to blurred photos due to camera shake, etc. Though expensive, you'll feel the satisfaction when you start taking photos.

Vincent > with VR is very expensive, still not yet have that budget yet, I am planning either get a normal 70-300 (less then RM400) or a 50mm f1.8 lens which also less then RM400 one.

Still dono which one to grab 1st

hey there calvyn, actually some post-processing can do wonders to your pics. I've borrowed 2 pictures from here, and i'll do some post-processing on it and see if you're happy with it.

Photography is challenging and I'm sure that you've faced the challenges already. Patience is a virtue, so keep on shooting, look for lessons online, look for mentors if possible.

Equipment can only enhance your photographic perspective. If one doesn't know how to best use the equipment, no matter how high the technology or how expensive the equipment are, it's the photographer who takes the pictures.

Hope to see more of your work mate. Take care.
