This evening once of my Ex-Colleague told me he connect 2 laptop with a UTP cable/Network cable, but unable to play Counter Strike…

What is the problem if you having this kind of question?

• Game problem?
• Networking Problem?
• Laptop problem?

Still remember when I starting as an IT officer, some time my solution are not accurate, and I need to think & try few solution then only works or solve the problem…As times goes by, my solution become more and more accurate. Hope my skill can improve more in near future.

Ok, back to my friend problem, i ask him to check on the UTP cable color code, just like as below. Check the arrangement of the color code on both head and tail

This is Straight Ethernet Cable, both head and tail same color arrangement. T-568A standard which was ratified in 1995, wheres replaced by the T-568B standard in 2002. (Currently using this Standard)

This is Crossover Ethernet Cable or so-called CROSS CABLE (Above), the easy way to remember, is one end using the T-568A standard and the other end using the T-568B standard. Or simply switch the Green set of wires in place with the Orange set of wires.

CROSS CABLE use to connect 2 same device together, such as PC to PC without passing hub or router or connect HUB to HUB . At the end, my Ex-Colleague found that his wire are not CROSS Cable… This is the different between this 2 type of cable.

By follow the above UTP color code, you able to crimp the correct network cable/utp cable. Need more information on how to crimp, video tutorial will come up shortly.

Microsoft Channel Partner Conference 2007
This morning, I have to early wake up half an hour, rushing to E&O hotel, for Microsoft event… chek~ Microsoft alway organize event at E&O hotel, a lot people are bored at there already…but for me, still fresh, this is the 1st time I formally attend.

Why formally? previously I did not really attend, my “coward boss” at X-company did not approve~ scare no IT personnel standby at hotel, bullshit la~ E&O hotel so near only. So that time I just “steal out” to attend short while~ manage to get 2 free T-shirt.

While register my self, I manage to get 2 Windows Server 2008, Beta only and some note

Ok, come to today agenda, morning session, I learn on 2 topic on Windows Server 2003, about Email Exchange Server and SharePoint Service 3.0. Before started, there are light breakfast, coffee, tea, bread, and tart, still acceptable

When come to lunch, damm…Sux Stingy.. just some very simply buffet at corridor, some more expose to sun light, damm hot~ according to pass event attendees, previous event was at hotel restaurant.

Afternoon Session, I learn on Windows Vista OEM Pre-installation with Office 2007… this session are interesting to me, I totally new with this~ I am requesting the Manual from Microsoft, hope to get the email soon. Any one if interested on this may email me, I will send to you all while receive from Microsoft.

While 3.30PM tea break… It is really “TEA” break, only coffee and Tea, i thought have some snake or fried noodle.

End of this event, when pass up the evaluation form… Huh~ like that only? no free gift? Previous event still have Microsoft T-shirt, I still keep that T-shirt, going to wear it tomorrow after wash… (more…)

Last Week End, Saturday I have night shift again… some more in hospital. Does hospital have Ghost? Nah~ no such thing, I hope to saw it too. I purposely looking at the CCTV monitor, hope to see some shadows, but…got! saw people only..

Estimate work from 9pm to 3 am only, unfortunately, some hiccup delay until 8am next Sunday morning. Between this, we all work relaxing and also chit chat with the hospital IT personnel… On that night, I did not have opportunity to take any picture on our job process, damm sleepy that time…

Today, my boss asking me and my colleague to do some cable trace again there, and manage to took some picture.

Today, just like a hospital tour, visiting most of the department in hospital including blood bank and also their medicine store. Yuck, the smell are ..yuck yuck… don’t know how the nurse and doctor can stand for that small.
