Few days back while I follow my colleague went to upper penang road for some troubleshooting.

I have do some random wifi detect over my laptop, and guess what, I detect my ex-company wifi, the signal from so far still able to detect.

Still have 1 to 2 bar if signal, and manage to connected, and login with my own ID (My current company are the their Wifi Internet service provider)

I try to surf my own website, but the loading a bit slow, yet still faster then lousy maxis boardband (more…)

IT Engineer Life on Linksys 4400N Access Point

Ops, another 2 parcel receive at my table, according to sales department, one is linksys 4400N access point, and another is linksys switch, which need to configure and install at client house.

The switch is a manageable switch, but I’m not require to configure it, the customer just plug and play, which is home use only (Customer are rich to buy expensive switch for home use)

For this Linksys 4400N Access point, due to the customer house are very big, the wifi signal coverage require very huge, that why they require to use 802.11n Access Point.

For this N protocol, it is same as for previous version 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g, but it add another new function which is Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO), and the coverage are double wider.

IT Engineer Experience:
I have personally tested and experience this Linksys 4400N access point. I place this access point at my house’s sitting room, and my house located at 5th floor.

There are no issue for me to access my house Wifi signal while I sitting at ground floor. It still have 1 to 2 bar signal, as my windows’s wifi status shows. (more…)

Recently I found few website which provide movie to download, all are in rapid share file, but for legacy, em…. you should know what I mean! All this movie take space in my Hard disk, I need to burn it into CD if that movie I like, so I can watch again in future.

While I search over google, I found another CD burning software which enable me to burn all my movie to CD, few movie such as “Smallville” and “Prison Break“, so to “Heroes“, are my favorites movie, I require to burn it into CD, and watch it when I free. (more…)

As my previous post mention on my CCNA course, the tutor share with us a cisco simulation software which name Packet Tracer.

Packer Tracer is a cisco simulation software for cisco product, it contain a lot different kind of cisco product, such as router and switches, which is for simulation use. This cisco simulation software is a very good tools for cisco learner, which to simulate configuration of cisco product.

In this cisco simulation software, I able to drag and drop different kind of router, switch, workstation, and use different kind of connecting medium, design my own network, and configure the router and switches.

I am addicted to Internet. Did you?

Seriously, without Internet, I really did not know how my IT Engineer’s life will be? Not only my job, for personal life, I also addicted to Internet. Average 4 to 8 hour per days sitting in front of computer surfing Internet.

Where is all my time goes on Internet? Did you ever ask your self before?
My time actually spend for the SPEED of the Internet. Even our biggest Internet Service Provider (ISP) or broadband provider give us a poor Internet surfing speed. People here call them “Slowmyx”, or “Snailmyx” instead of their real name Steamyx. So to other provider, the service are more worst.

So how your ISP give you? What kind of broadband speed they provide? (more…)
