This Blogfest 2010 event, I bring Sherming together for this event since she already started her blog few month ago

At first day for blogfest 2010 (Friday), we having a welcome dinner, sponsor by Tourism Malaysia at QEII restaurant, free flow on beer some more.

Upon registration, I get my self a name tag….

On the next day (Saturday), we register at wawasan university and we get a blogfest 2010 T-shirt, the T-shirt look nice in the photo, but the actual one, not that colorful.

After some welcome speach, all the participant participate the talk, few class with different topic let participant to choose.

Event finish about 5pm and dinner start at 6pm. The dinner is sponsor by Tourism Penang

After the dinner, most blogger went back already, and partially, went to attending the blogger award!

Keep updating your skills: When you don’t continue to learn and keep your IT skills updated, you’re going to lag behind your colleagues and the competition because this is one field that is constantly undergoing change. We’re being bombarded with newer applications and gadgets with each of them using new technology, so unless you stay ahead on the learning curve, you’re going to be left behind and find yourself redundant and obsolete.

Learn to work with a team: Most IT projects are team efforts, with each member’s role being defined and all members working together to achieve the end result. So unless you’re a freelancer who prefers to work on individual (but small) projects, you need to be able to cooperate and be able to get along with members of a team.

Open Source Blogging Platform
Usually for self hosted blog, we are using free open source platform(blog software) such as wordpress, b2evolution, Nucleus. All script that we using right here are open source script which easily be penetrate by hacker.

Recommended Prevention Method for Open Source Blogging Platform:
Always update blog software to the latest version, because older version susceptible to vulnerabilities and your blog and server may be hack.

Backuping Database, Template, Plugin, and others file:
Backup your blog frequently so that you able to restore/recover it when any security breach or server problem. Base on my experience, few thing that you might need to backup time to time, may be once a week.

1. Database – you can use any plugin, such as wp-db-backup, to generate backup database automatically and send to your email weekly or daily.

2.Template/Theme – I do experience before hacker edited my template, and add in malware, all my visitor who access my website are infected.

3. Plugin – Plugin are not that big trouble because we do able to download the fresh copy from the the plugin website.

4. file folder – for example, “upload” folder which located at wp-content(for wordpress), the location which store your photo, and file at the server.

Strong Password:
Using strong password for your blog, and also for your web hosting account and FTP account, change them frequently

Since it is free, sure there are some cons over here, let me share my opinion on what is the pros and cons with using wordpress.com:

prons:
At free blog platform service, u will  get a unlimited bandwidth, for self hosted blog, usually bandwidth will be a problem when your website have huge traffic of visitor. Other then this, if you are lucky enough, your website will be hosted at a stable server, fast and without much downtime. So far never heard before there are downtime for wordpress.com and blogger.com server because they do have a strong server redundancy system. Also, you not require to worry on your data, due to the the redundancy system, data center also will do daily backup, but recommended to do backup on your self too.

Cons:
Due to a lot of sub domain hosted in the same server, if you unlucky, hosted with a lot of high traffic user, your server might have slow loading problem. Secondly, the URL you own is just a sub domain, which consider the 2nd level domain name. Ownership of the URL are not belong to you. If you against the rules, wordpress.com have the right to take ways from you. Lastly, a lot of advertiser not accept free blogging platform’s blog to write review for them, if you are a blogger who plan to make money online, this will be a huge disadvantage for you!

After get know the prons and cons for wordpress.com, if you are a serious user who plan to get your own domain and hosted your own blog sooner in the future, I will recommended you using wordpress.com 1st. Here come Step by Step to create a blog at WordPress.com:

Step 1: Access wordpress.com and click on “sign up now”

Step 2: Fill up your username, password and email address.

Step 3: If the username already exist or taken by other people, you have to find another username (one of the disadvantage too)

Step 4: Once you choose a unique user name, proceed to enter your “blog title” and hit “sign up”

Step 5: Over here, you require to check your email for activation link.

Step 6: Login to your email, the sender will be “wordpress.com” and the topic are ” activate username.wordpress.com”

Step 7: Click on the link  in the email for activation.

Step 8: Once you click the link, it will show your account is now activate!

Step 9: At the moment, you can access the URL you register “http://username.wordpress.com”, for example, mine, I put http://bloggerworkshop.wordpress.com”, you will see your blog is already created.

Step 10: Now you require to access the back end, just put “wp-admin” at the end of the URL, such as http://bloggerworkshop.wordpress.com/wp-admin the login page will coming out

Step 11: Key in the username and password, and hit “login in“

All the while, we do have same dissatisfy with certain party, complaint on certain product and services, disagree with the decision that some authority made. but does out dissatisfy, complain, and disagree really bring the thing better?

Like my case, I do not satisfy with my apartment’s management, because they never do their job, but does complain really help?

Yesterday when I come back from the mainland, the road to town (so call jelutong “highway“) was fcuking JAM from the bridge. Stuck there about 45 minute only know what happen in front. Is because of our CEPAT, MESRA dan BETUL are “hardworking” doing blocking at there. We don’t what they blocking for, citizen are very dissatisfy with their “CEPAT, MESRA dan BETUL” and what can we do?

Same case during Chinese New Year, during the PEAK hour, they blocking the road in front of CHUNG LING HIGH SCHOOL, and make the traffic JAM along the Air Itam road and from FALIM. With their “hardworking“, bring suffer to the citizen. What can we do?

A lot cases that happening on me which I does not have the power make it better, just like I for to buy XMAS present to the legal thief and I get a summon from ‘CEPAT, MESRA dan BETUL“ when I parking at a legal parking area few year back.

If I am a blogger whom can bring influence to the society, I really want to represent all the citizen voice out our dissatisfaction on the blog. Not to said ANTI certain party, just would like to take back out RIGHT and hope to makes thing better.

Month ago when I blog about Cathay Cineplex Scam Promotion, I have bring up this issue to their head office at Singapore and end up I get back my right with Free Movie Ticket from Cathay Cinema. I guess because I blog about how bad their promotion was, so it bring back what I deserve to get.

If we does not know the correct way to voice out, it might bring a big trouble for us, end up might go in to the jail or prison if we does not know what should said and what should not said

Recently I come across this new Search Engine name BING.com; this SE belong to Microsoft, basically the algorithm are almost same with their others SE, such as live.com and msn.com. (I guess).

At last, I realize how it works, this company actually provide  server up time tracking service, so it require a lot machine from different places, different IP and Mac Address to ping their client website, and send report back to them. While this small software install at our PC, is actually their “bot” which ping their client website and send the result back to them.

So their client paid them for the service, they paid us as return.

I was thinking does there any service offer the similar concept, install a small program at our computer, and it can automatic surf a lot website it self, and earn credit, then we use the credit to exchange traffic or visit from other computer to our website automatically. As dream come true, I found this  China website name “sardin fish”, I will try to translate some basic step for you guys to follow.

7. You can see the result over the software, or login back to the website, go to “User Center” (refer step 4), this section show your affiliate link, user status, point information.

8. After earn enough point, you can go to “traffic system“(refer step 4) to exchange for traffic. You can put in direct URL, meaning that all this bot will direct access your website, or choose referral URL.

Referral URL mean some other website which can found your link. The bot will access the website and come to your website like natural traffic. For example, at google search “IT ENGINEER” it will come out my website, and copy the whole URL above your search, and paste at referral URL section. eg.

Other then search engine, you can put other website which available your a link to your website.

The best thing is you able to control the traffic by limit it at the certain time frame, at the “traffic system, above the submit URL section, choose “control traffic time”

Tips : Furthermore, I am collecting point right now, and 1 more tips from this website, it will automatically click your “a,d,s”. Sound cool? beware, don’t over use and it might make you regret.

When people talking on search engine (SE), the most 3 top search engine on the world will be Google, Yahoo, and Msn a.k.a Microsoft (Live). After get know how to submit sitemap to Google Webmaster, and submit feed to Yahoo Site Explorer, now I going to talk about how to submit sitemap to live.com (microsoft webmaster tools) or in another word, we said submit sitemap to MSN.com.

How to submit sitemap to Msn Webmaster Center?

1) sign in to Live Webmaster Center with your ID at http://webmaster.live.com/

2) Submit your website address, sitemap address and email address into the live search webmaster center

3) After submit, you require to do verification for your website, you can either choose verify your website via upload a xml file to the root folder, or adding a meta tag into your website index page. In this case, I choose upload the verification file into my root folder. After upload, you must able to access http://yourwebsite.com/LiveSearchSiteAuth.xml

4) Last step, click return to site list, you will see your website URL there, click on it to check on the verification (Just need few second, the verification will done)

After you click into the URL you will see which web page has been index, and how many web page has been index too. Also show the last crawled date.

base on the Microsoft webmaster center, you can found some related information such as, website crawl issue, back links, outbound links, and etc.

After I submit the website, I will wait for few week after, hope to see that more page get indexes from Live Search Spider.

After he screw over and over his mind, he come out a very “reasonable” resign reason to his boss.

Honestly, some time I also have this kind of feeling, no time to blog and marketing, and traffic drop really have the actuation to type resignation and pass up on the next days
