A lot people no idea how powerful of search engine which bring organic traffic to their website. They spend money to advertise, but never spend a single cent for “search engine optimization”. If you selling a product or a services, try to search it at Search Engine and see whether your website appear or not. Imagine your potential customer who search your service or product at Google, and your competitor appear in top 10, how worst it will be to lost a lot of potential customer.

Lately I found a great article written by Jeff Scott, Director of Online Marketing Services, and I would like to share here to lets you guys know in deep on the important of search engine traffic:

If you build it, will they come?
You have a domain name … CHECK! You have a website … CHECK! Now will millions of people come flooding to your website? … NOT SO FAST! Just like any type of business, if you want people to find out about your new website, you need to take certain steps to market your site so it stands out from the crowd and people find you.

The major search engines (Google, Yahoo!, Bing) have BILlIONS of different web pages in their results, so making the correct marketing decisions is critical to the long-term success of your website.

The Traffics is at the top
According to some studies, almost 90% of web searchers never make it to the second page of the results. What does that mean for your website? Simple. If you’re not ranked high on the search engines, you’re missing out on the majority of the traffic.

And as more and more people use search engines (vs. phonebook ads) to find the product/service they need, being ranked at the top can mean a large stream of potential customers visiting your business website every day.

Importance of Key Phrases
People use “key phrases” on search engines to find what they’re looking for. For example, if you’re a Mexican food restaurant in Phoenix, people might type in “phoenix Mexican restaurant” or “Mexican food in phoenix” to find your website.

Since there are dozens of different key phrases that searchers might use, it’s important that you identify all the different ways people might be looking for you.
These are the key phrases that you’ll want to use for “Search Engine Optimization (SEO)” to drive more traffic to your website.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
It all starts with a solid foundation … if your website is not “search engine friendly” then it can be difficult for your website to be noticed by the search engines.

Since there are dozens of different technical factors that can prevent your site from showing up on search engines, it’s recommended you ask your Webmaster/Designer to ensure your website follows proper SEO guidelines.

Importance of Backlinks
Once your website is “SEO friendly,” it’s time to focus on “backlinks.” Getting other websites to link back to your website is one of the most important factors to improving your rankings on search engines.

How do you get bacldinks?
There are several ways, including writing content and posting on other people’s sites, mentioning your webpage on popular social communities, and participating in online forums in your industry.

“Backlinking” can often be time-consuming and difficult but it’s a critical step that needs to be performed.

Lets begin by giving you a quick and accurate breakdown of what Google+ does.

1. It combines all of the best features of Facebook and Twitter in one place.
2. It also combines all of this with gmail
3. It connects this to AdWords and Google search engine and its search partners.

So in short Google+ will draw all of these strings together!

So how will this affect your business, AdWords advertising and Google page ranking?

To answer these questions lets consider what happens when someone presses your Google+ button on your site or on your AdWords ad:

First, all of their friends who are in their gmail account will be sent a notification recommending your site and service to them. This will also extend to Facebook and Twitter as Google+ will invite them to join. So instant and Free advertising for your web site to hundreds of people.

But there is more!

Now anytime one them is looking for a product or service on Google and see your AdWords ad or natural search listing, Google will put
a notification next to your site or Ad saying “Calvyn Lee (or whatever their friends name is) recommends this site to you”

Imagine, you will get a personal recommendation from someone they know to use your service and it will make your AdWords ad or site stand out from your competition!

All of that has to be good for your business! and what’s more its Free!

It will also greatly affect your page ranking on Google because the more people press on your Google+ button the higher your sites
relevancy will be viewed. They will become more important than inbound links.

So for all of these reasons you are going to want as many people as possible to press your Google+ button!

I already have several marketing strategies prepared to encourage people to press your Google+ button. Stay tune for following news at iCalvyn.com

In conclusion Google+ is going to be huge and your advantage is that you will be amongst the first to use it properly and to integrate it into your AdWords campaigns, Re marketing ect…. and REALLY benefit from it! Putting you way ahead of your competition!

At the moment you can only go onto Google+ by invitation as Google are bench testing the service but it wont be long before everyone can join. This is how they started gmail.

Once it is open to the general public I will show you how to set it up correctly and how to integrate Google+ with your AdWords campaign, Re marketing, Local business listings ect…. and how to obtain a higher raking on Google by using Google Plus.

In the meantime I would like to tell you of another internet shift that is already affecting your business but you may not be aware
of yet! The mobile device revolution!

This is very important please read

Over the last year more and more people are buying bigger and better mobile devices and they are using their smart phones, ipad,
androids, Blackberries and similar mobile devices to access the internet.

Actually 60% of internet traffic is now from these devices. So the BIG question you need to be asking is:

How does my web site LOOK on them? and how does it perform on them?

This is extremely important because 60% of people viewing your site are using a mobile device!

You may be in for a shock!

I have recently been giving the Release Candidate of Internet Explorer 9 a go and I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s actually really, really fast and really, really easy to use. And it seems to have made security a priority as you browse the web.

The reason I’m surprised is that I’ve been a huge Firefox fan for the last few years and I just never thought that I would have a reason to move back to Internet Explorer. The last time I used Internet Explorer was back in 2007, with version 7. Firefox was so far ahead in terms of usability and speed that I never thought IE would catch up again. But I’ve just spent the last few hours trying IE9 out, and I love the detail with which it renders web pages. You can really notice the difference.

Also, I love the way you can ‘pin’ websites to the Windows 7 task bar and how much easier it is to use tabbed browsing (it was Firefox’s genius use of tabs, back in 2007, that won me over in the first place). Little touches like these show that Microsoft has learned from the success of Firefox and Chrome. After all, it doesn’t matter how fast your browser is if it’s too clunky to use. And as for security, it’s great that IE9 pauses a download if it thinks that it might be malicious.

I’ll still use Firefox from time to time, you can’t overlook all the brilliant add-ons that people make for it. And I’ll still keep an eye on Chrome. But for now, I’m an Internet Explorer 9 convert. It certainly seems to offer more advanced browsing than Firefox 4. I can’t wait for it to be officially released.

And Facebook is like no other media that you have ever used to promote your business. It reach people in ways traditional advertising cannot!

So don’t get left behind, bite the bullet and start using Facebook to promote your business because your competition is!

How to use Facebook to promote your business?

Well consider. There are over 350 million active users on Facebook, That’s a very big number of people using this medium. So use it to your advantage!

How powerful is Facebook!
Remember that on average each facebook user has 110 friends listed. That means that in principle with just 110 friends you can be networked to 110 x 110 Friends. That is 12,100 people who all know each other. Pretty impressive. Whats more because they are “Friends” that means you have access to the best form of advertising which is. Word of mouth and what is more it is FREE!!! So lets discuss
the ways to use it.

However many business owners are daunted by Facebooks sheer scale, and simply don’t know where to start. Does this describe you?

If it does you need to clue up on what facebook can do for your business. So over the next week I am going to reveal to you the 9 Top Ways you can use Facebook to promote your business:

1. Create a Facebook Business Page.

2. Create Facebook Events for Promotions and Special Occasions

3. Use Facebook Ads

4. Create Contests and use Voting on your Facebook Page and Give Your Customers a Voice.

5. The advantage of sponsoring other Local businesses using Facebook

6. Integrate “Facebook Connect” on Your Website

7 Putting a Facebook link on your web site

8 Putting photos on your Facebook page and updating your Facebook page

9 Use Facebook to talk to your customers.

Writen by Graham Callingwood, coming up next on the above 9 way of promoting your business in detail.

Recently I spend a huge amount of time for Internet marketing research, and found that a lot businesses actually know the important of website, but they do not have knowledge on how to market their business online.

Some company, they do understand that make their product listed in search engine will bring greater value to their business and willing to hire SEO Company for work on search engine optimization at their business website, but some not affort to hire SEO consultant due to too high cost.

Actually there are few option which can start from low cost. As we know, link building is one of the SEO method that able to bring more lead to the business. Business owner can spend some time to learn basic SEO technique at various forum, no matter black hat or white hat, as long it able to bring lead to your business. It is worth to spend.

Buying software is one of the easies method to DIY search engine optimize at your business website. My self purchase few tools which is social bookmarking submision tools, article spinning tools, and article marketing submission tools at this moment, this few tools can bring more natural traffic to my website.

Many type of Marketing Automation Software are introduce in forum, and some do provide their user review on the Content Marketing Software and the result of their marketing campaign.

For my own experience, after using the marketing software, it really save a lot of your time to do all the marketing campaign manually.

After getting know How to use Google Analytics. Lets begin by weeding out the phrases that are generating time wasters and keep in and improve on the phrases that are generating the real sales and interest. To achive this we use the AdWords analytics

Today lets look at site depth, time on site, bounce rate and visitor loyalty. We will take bounce rate first.

Bounce rate
A bounce is someone who visits your site and takes one look and leaves immediately. They ” bounce”. This is a time waster who has
no intention in buying from you. They are just a surfer who’s eye was caught by your ad. You do not want bouncers! They cost you
money that could have been spent to generate a real customer.

Site depth.
This is when someone who lands on your site and visits several pages of your site.

Time on site.
This tells you how long a visitor has been on your site.

Visitor loyalty are returning visitors.
This means that they havebook marked your site and are returning. It is a fact that someone will visit a site several times before buying a product so it is important to know which phrases generate visitor loyalty.

What can you tell by these?
If someone has used a phrase and lands on your site and spends several minutes on your site, visit several pages and then bookmark your site and return several times Who spends time on a site and return to the site several times if they are not interested in?

These are all of the hallmarks of a real prospect. They will probably buy from you!

So by looking at the analytics you can weed out the phrases that are generating the most bounces and keep in the phrases that are
generating, time on site, depth and visitor loyalty.

The budget that you will save from this can be loaded onto the phrases that are really working! By using the analytics you have
just reduce costs and increase sales. But there is more.

You can improve on this by using the conversion tracking system. site overlay and traffic sources.

The reason why is that Google have spent millions of dollars on it (no other analytics software company has spent nearly as much on theirs) and for everyone who have an AdWords account it is absolutely FREE to use! You can use it even when your AdWords campaign is not being used.

Why have they spent so much and put so much effort into perfecting their analytics system. Because they want you to succeed using AdWords. Why? Because if you make more money out of AdWords advertising than you are putting in then you are a happy customer who will continue to use them. If you just break even or lose money using AdWords then you will walk. They don’t want that to happen. So use the tools they are giving you. It will work!

Their analytics lets you see what is happening when someone visits your site. It tells you what phrase they used to end up on your page. It will tell you where they are and which search engine they found you on. It will tell you if they arrived at your site via Ad Words, via portal or by the natural or organic search engines.

You can track a visitor to see how long they spent on a page and which page they were on when they left your site and it can reveal much much more. There are over 300 ways you can splice and dice this information.

So the first port of call when reducing your AdWords costs and increasing sales is to switch on your AdWords analytics.
You then need to install the urchin tracking snippet onto all of the pages of your web site.

This may all seem complicated but it is pretty straight forward. So lets assume that you have done all of that and you have your analytics switched on.

What do you need to look at?
Well there are 300 different ways to look at the information but most of it will be irrelevant for you. These will tell you how well or how poorly the phrases in your account are working.

The goal is to have in your account ONLY phrases that are generating sales and inquires. You don’t just want clicks from time wasters who click on your ad but don’t buy from you!

Analytics will help you weed out the phrases that are just generating time wasters and keep in the account the phrases are generating sales and inquiries!

The most important aspects of Adwords analytics are:
Site depth
Time on site.
Bounce rate
Conversion tracking
Site overlay
Traffic source
Visitor loyalty

The rest of the analytics is interesting but wont really be of any help to you. The key to success is interpreting these statistic correctly and making the right changes.

There is something else that is not covered by the analytics but is vitally important it is called quality scoring. Get a good quality score and Google will half your click price get a bad quality score and you will pay the maximum per click. I will deal with this separately after discussing the above.

Lets begin by saying that in principle AdWords is a fantastic system that gets your product or service in front of those who will buy it! How you going to lower your AdWord advertising cost and convert the traffic into sales?

With using Google AdWord you can:
Be on the top page of Google within 10 minutes using any phrase that you feel your target audience are using. Choose the wording of your ad to whatever you feel will appeal to them and Only pay when a person actually clicks on the ad and visits your site.Other then this, you can also choose the wording of your ad to whatever you feel will appeal to them. You only pay when a person actually clicks on the ad and visits your site.

So in principle AdWords could be the advertising equivalent to a silver bullet and can get you massive exposure! If you have not tried AdWords this would be very appealing.

Butwhy are so many companies that use AdWords disappointed? Why are so many companies that have used it felt that it was a complete waste of time and money?

The answer is simple. They have not used it properly!
At this point you may be thinking ” what is he talking about I am using it properly” well in the last nine years I have helped hundreds of companies that felt that way to greatly improve their AdWords campaigns and they all realized after a short while that it could be done far better.

You may need some proof of this so I would first like to start by giving two examples that I have personally been involved in to show that AdWords can work.

One was for a company that used AdWords to generate leads for mortgages and loans. They were paying on average $30 per lead in AdWords advertising but they sold the leads on to a company for $60. They asked me if it was possible to reduce the AdWords cost per lead. I managed to reduce their AdWords cost to $12.97 per lead. This halved their costs. They decided to use the savings to generate more leads and they actually doubled their business.

Another company I have helped used AdWords to sell their ink jet cartridges and printing products. They just about broke even on their AdWords advertising. How could it be improved? First I managed to reduce their AdWords costs by about 30% but also took a long hard look at their site. I saw that there were several products that they sold using AdWords that were really profitable but others just broke even or worse were, making a loss. So instead of advertising all their products using Ad Words I suggested that they concentrate on these high profit earners. Using AdWords they sold more of these high profit products and made double the net profit for less AdWords costs.

Can this be true of every business. To a greater or lesser degree. ES!
