Windows Registry is configuration data for Microsoft Windows operating system. This registry record is created to hold important information for our computer. If you are not familiar with how an operating system works, you probably won’t realize about these data. But, you will definitely experience or feel the impact of it before, especially when it goes wrong.

After a period of time, when you start feeling your pc getting slower, always getting errors like DLL issue, Windows explorer error, Windows installer issues, Internet Explorer errors, System32 errors, Runtime errors, Svchost errors or even more serious is, your monitor screen turn into blue color. This is the moment where the system is telling you, you need to clean your computer registry.

Make Computer Faster
Cleaning computer registry will help to speed up your computer. When you clean the computer registry, you will remove configuration data from Windows Registry that is no longer in use or unnecessary to the system. Besides, you will also clean all junk files and free up you computer hard disk.

Must Aware
However, if you are not familiar with computer software stuff, please do not make an attempt to clean it by yourself. Simply cleaning the computer registry may damage the useful registry file and causing loss of functionality and system instability. As a result, not only that you cannot speed up your computer, you are actually destroying the systems that run in your computer.

This you need!
So, I would like to introduce a useful tool that helps you to clean your computer registry safely and securely. This application is called WindoFix.

WindoFix is an application that will help to clean your computer registry. Meanwhile, it also helps you to fix the error registry file at the same time. The user interface is very simple. All you need to do is just a simply click on the button ‘Start Scan’ or ‘Repair All’, etc.

Have problem? No worry, it can restore back
After cleaning the registry and if you still found some system instability, you can simply click a button to recover all the changes. WindoFix is capable of restoring all your Windows Registry to previous state.

Last but not least, I strongly recommended that each of you to install WindoFix. It is a very powerful utilities application that will help to speed up your computer in a safety and faster way.

You can get a FREE SCAN with WindoFix first, I have try my own scan, and terrible! see how much I have

It is just begining, the result was 1200++ error for my PC. I really need to clear all this registry ASAP. No wonder my Computer so slow.

If you wish to have a try, you can visit <<WindoFix >> website. Get a free scan there.

Do you install security application at your computer? no budget to purchase can get a free application.

Security is once of the main concern when you use your computer to access important website, such as checking your banking account, login your paypal account, checking email, government related website and so on.

All this security take higher concern when you using public wireless to access. But in my opinion, it is not recommended to

access this kind of website when using public wifi service. If you really want, remember to install more security software. Here is the list of FREE security application that you might need to secure your computer.

Spybot

More and more malware such as keystroke logger which use by hacker to steal your password while you login into your bank account or during you check your email. Trojan horse also one of the spyware that take over your control on your computer surreptitiously. To prevent all this malware to be install into your PC, Spybot will take over the role to prevent it happen and provide real time registry monitoring feature too.

www.safer-networking.org

Avira

This antivirus always let me recall the movie call “resident evil”, may be because the logo for avira antivirus is a umbrella. The Avira antivirus running at the operation system background with not strain much computer resources. You might not feel any slowness when you use this free antivirus software even your PC are not a high end system. I have a lot of friend using Avira Antivirus at their computer, so far never heard any complain from them.

www.avira.com

Zone Alarm

If you unable to afford a hardware firewall, which cost you few thousand buck, you can try on software firewall. Usually our operating system, for example windows XP already include a software firewall. To make protect your computer from unauthorized access while permitting outward communication at ur network traffic, some people choose to install extra firewall application. Zone Alarm is once of the free firewall application that able to let you secure your computer, you can set zone alarm to recognize your program and denying other suspicious program that intent to run at your computer.

www.zonealarm.com

Peer Guardian

Run Peer Guardian when you using P2P (peer to peer) software to download those software or movie that infringes copyright law. Running Peer Guardian can protect your from hacker to snoop into your internet protocol address.

For example, I always like to use ms paint to do some simple editing, to open a paint, I need to click on start button, go to program, then Accessories, only I can found the Paint program there.

Now with using run command, I just require to click start, run, and key in mspaint, then hit Ok

Tips: Some Windows Vista does not have “RUN” button when click on start button, to open run, simply press windows button on your keyboard and press R, the run box will come out already.

Other then this, I experience before few time when looking for some application such as “hyperterminal” in the computer, it does not located in the correct place. If you don’t mind extra step, can go into C drive, one by one folder search, but with using run comand, just type “hypertrm“, hola, it come out already.

Recently my laptop was having some issue, and send to hewlett packet service center for repair. Due to no computer use, and kinda free at office, I decide to continue setup a linux base web server which is in my wish list long time ago. (As mention on free antivirus for linux operating system).

I have download Centos 5.2 (www.centos.org) few month ago, also try to install it and experience it, but not much time to really put my self in study on Linux base operating system. After install centos linux base operation system, now I require web server script, Apache, web programming script, PHP, and a database script, MySql. So how to install all this script? I found a easy way to install Linux Apache MySql PHP (LAMP) using Yum command. Just simple 5 step to fully setup your own web server.

How to install Apache using Yum command:

Open Terminal, type in ” yum install httpd “, the command will instruct the centos to download apache web server and install it into the server.

How to install MySql using Yum command:

After install Apache Web Server, now we require to install MySql database. Type in ” yum install mysql-server mysql “, this command will download MySql dabatase into the server and install it.

How to install PHP using Yum command:

Once finish install MySql server script, lastly, we need to install PHP programming script by type in ” yum install php ” it will download php script and install into the linux server.

After finish install Apache, MySql and PHP, now we require to start the Apache Web Server service and MySql database service.

Optional Method: You can install Apache, MySql and PHP into centos together with using ” yum install httpd php mysql-server mysql ” command, after hit enter, you can sit a side wait for all this 3 script install into your Linux Web Server.

How to start Apache web server:

Simply type in ” service httpd start ” in the terminal, and the service will be activated.

How to start MySql database service:

To start the MySql server, type in ” service mysqld start ” in the terminal, and MySql service is ready to use. You can create a database, create table, and create record using MySql command line at the terminal.

How to test the Web Server and ensure it is running?
After both Apache Web server and MySql database is start running, now we open a internet explorer, access “http://localhost/” or “http://127.0.0.1” and you will see a welcome page!

The root directory for the web server will be located at ” var/www/html “, you can try to create an index.html, save it at ” var/www/html “, you will saw this webpage when you access “ http://localhost/ ” or “ http://127.0.0.1/ ”

How to test the Web Server and ensure it is running on the network?
If you are in the network environment, you can use the other computer within the network, and access the web server IP address. For example, the web server local IP address is 192.168.1.5, you can use other computer within the network to access ” http://192.168.1.5 “, you will see the welcome page or the index.html you create in ” var/www/html ” at the web server.

Ok, is time for me to play around the web server, will keep you guys posted if I found any special during my hand on experience.

I am graduate as an Information System Engineer, which suppose to be a programmer at the moment, but I am not, because I was easily bored with those programming language. In the other way, I am very interest on those short command line, such as ms-dos command line.

This Cisco Pedia contain where, when, why, and how to use the cisco commands. Most of the new Network engineer, or begineer who like to learn Cisco Networking Commands must keep this as their weapon especially those CCNA, CCNP, CCIE holder.

Misconceptions:
None

Related Commands:
cd

Actual Disk Space Calculation and Simple Math Disk Space Calculation!!! Which you prefer?

Most of us will be very curious, why our actually hard disk space does not match with the amount of disk space when we purchase?

For example our 2GB Pen drive, when we check on the disk space, the total space was 1.87GB only (Red Arrow), where another 0.13GB or 130MB missing?

See the image above, the red arrow show 1.87GB, but the green arrow show 2,014,621,696 bytes which already more then 2 billion bytes.

Actual DIsk Space Calculation vs Simple Math Disk Space Calculation

When we talk about actual disk space calculation, bytes… Kilo bytes… Mega bytes… Giga bytes… Tera bytes… The disk space is actually count by:

1KB = 1024bytes

1MB = 1024KB (1048576 bytes)

1GB = 1024MB (1073741824 bytes)

1TB = 1024GB

When talk about simple math disk space calculation, the calculation are

1K (kilo) = 1000

1M (Million) =1,000,000

1B (Billion) = 1000,000,000

1T (Trillion) = 1000,000,000,000

For 2GB Pen Drive, if base on disk space calculation, suppose to have 2048MB, , but if base on simple math calculation, 2GB equal to 2Billion is 2,000,000,000 bytes only.

So, how does this actually calculate?

Actual Disk Space Calculation,
Let me give some disk space calculation 1st

Base on the converter, 2GB Disk Space suppose to be = 2048MB = 2,097,152KB = 2,147,483,648Bytes

2,147,483,648 Bytes (Actual 2GB Space) minus 2,000,000,000 (2 Billion Bytes), it is about 147,483,648 bytes. Total different 147MB, which mean if the manufacture use the disk space calculation, then suppose to be 2.15GB disk space for a Pen Drive

Simple Math Disk Space Calculation,
Let see how simple math calculation

Base on the converter, 2GB Disk Space suppose to be 2 billion bytes (2,000,000,000)

2,000,000,000 Bytes equal to 1.86GB only, Total different 140MB, which mean if the manufacture use the simple math calculation, then our pen drive space will be 2GB minus 140MB, and left approximate 1.86GB

Manufacture are base on simple math calculation to provide us disk space, unlike our ram, when we have 1GB ram, it show 1024MB ram in our computer.

Same to 1 Tera Bytes Hard Disk Space, the bigger size the bigger different, and actual disk space only 931GB, which mean 69GB has been missing

Base on the simple math calculation, the 1Tera Bytes is about 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (1 trilion bytes), when using the bytes converter, it will show approximate 931GB.

This is how the hard disk space calculation, so which disk space calculation you prefer?
