LMI is a good packaged software solution for personal use. But for business users, appliance-based solution may be a better alternative.

This is because software usually has high up-front cost – you need to have a dedicated computer to host it to avoid disruptions from other applications and extensive time to setup and maintain. You may also need to buy several licenses and pay to upgrade it from time to time.

By contrast, appliance has low upfront cost because it comes as a complete hardware and software bundled and pre-configured package. And there is no monthly fee. In most cases, it is also easy to deploy (plug-and-play). as for the maintenance, most of appliances have self-updating functions, so easy too.
The leading remote access appliance vendors are RHUB and Sonicwall.

Guys, using the free tools like TeamViewer Free and LogMeIn Free for commercial purposes is out of the question. For a small business, their non-free versions are too expensive. I love the Techinline tool that Richard recommended (http://www.techinline.com/) – 4 times cheaper than LogMeIn Rescue, and very easy to use – I don’t have to install any software on my PC and I am not limited to using Techinline on a single workstation – I can open a web browser page from any PC in any part of the world and connect to my client in a matter of seconds.

@Richard, Thanks for recommending techinline. Just tried it and it was so easy. Perfect for my two computer illiterate parents. I was even able to drag and drop files from one computer to the other quite simply.
