    Hi all,

The kid on the bike claimed as little girl by Calvin in his photo galerry is a boy lah.. He has long hair and of course he carries around his little “bird” with him..He he.
His name is Alfie Rayyis, 4 years and 10 months old boy. His all time favourite rider is Valentino Rossi and of course with the favourite number on the bike, #46 and FIAT Yamaha Racing Team colour. He started to ride bike since he was 2 years old when he received a birthday gift, the batterry operated bike and does the wheelie when he saw Valentino Rossi did that 2 years ago after winning a race. I was really shocked when I saw that.. I still have those photos with me..
He love to see Rossi on the bike, just the same like his passion and love to ride his bike.

Well, my big thanks and congratulations to Ron Tan for his effort and hard work to make the pocket bike as popular as those big bike races around. I also hoped that the Penang state or federal government to look seriously into this event and to develop it as a popular family sports event. This motorsport event will certainly boost good image for Penang as a whole specially on “Sports Tourism”. As you all can see in Europe, Japan or even Australia, there are plenty race tracks (road race, dirt bike and karting) and everywhere. The key factor that we have such mania as Mat Rempit in Malaysia is because for those bike or racing enthusiasts don’t have any place or venue to test or practise their skills. Those guys are just wasting their lives unnecessarily like “mati katak” just because of to show off their so called skills and talents on the streets and roads but gained nothing.

The most important for me as a father to Alfie, this is a good starting point for him to move forward in the professional motorsports arena and to give a strong message to him that “NO” to illegal races or the Rempit mania . Start them young.. Insyaallah.. who knows he might raised Malaysian flag in the international motorsports arena in the near future. At least we have someone in the motorsports to carry on and compete in the international stage like Shahrul Yuzy, Alex Yoong, Fairus Fauzy, Karamjit, Kuan Meng Heng, Jazeman, etc. For those who is new in this arena, those abovementioned heroes have fought and raised our Malaysian flag high on podium earlier in the international stage. Even none of them has got through the World Ranking status but at least they have made us proud as Champions of Asia in respective categories.

Well, as ex-national motorbike racer myself, I really love to see the motorsports keeps moving forward be it the Cub Prix, Asian Championship, Pocket Bike or even any local race, we must support the industry or event that is held around Malaysia so that we can build a strong nation and people and create a world champion in the future. I trully salute our other sports personalities like Dato Nicol Ann David and Dato Lee Choong Wei with their consistency and high spirit in respective games, at least they are still holding the world no.1 status. Salute you guys and keep it up!

Well, for you pocket bikers.. Tunggu apa.. Let’s meet up every Sunday at the Jelutong expressway (beside Shell station) and every last Sunday of the month at the Esplanade from 8am-12noon.

    Sincerely, JOE NAZA 19
