PenDrive keep on dropping price

Before Chinese New Year, I was browsing PCdepot website, which is a cheapest tech hardware Shop i found. They are doing some chinese new year promotion

Kingston 2G pendrive was MYR 37 and
Kingston 4G pendrive was MYR 58

And today, I was checking the price again, pricing are keep droping. 2G from MYR37 to MYR33, and 4G from MYR58 to MYR53. I was thinking to get my self one 4G pendrive soon, since my current 1G pendrive are almost full. May be the coming PC fairon April if I able to wait

The price for the hardware is very cheap, even a distributor price some time also higher then them(according to my survey from my X-Company, which is a hardware distributor too), but I heard some people experience was the claim are too slow, and some of the shop keeper are not so friendly and polite when customer bring their spoil product for claiming and warranty.

I saw before their banner behind the road site, people are using spray to write a big “TIPU” (cheat) in their banner.

For my experience, I buy there few time before, and some time when the shopkeeper are free, they will treat me nicely, but some time when they are buzy or bad mode… haha, they not even see you even you stand in front of them. very very Farking RUDE~

now, pendrive price keep dropping… so damn cheap. Still remember last time bought a kingston 512mb pendrive for rm150++. With the same amount of money can buy 3 units of 4gb pendrive liao now!

I wanted to get a pen drive soon, possibly a 8GB one. What do you think? Buy it now or in April? Also, what do you think is the best price for a 80GB and 120GB external HDD with case?

Jayce > Some time the shopkeeper rude to me, i will just leave, i rather buy more expensive a bit in other shop.

Wayne Liew > price for 8G i don think will drop much, the most also drop RM20.

For portable, i will suggest get pendrive, but if store huge data, portable hard disk is better. but have to take care the hard disk, will crash if your hard disk fall down.

Price drops are now not only limited to pen/thumb drives - we are getting cheaper portable harddrives too that’s good news for consumers!

I still remembered, a 128mb pendrive costs me $150+ 6 years back.

whoa… 4GB so cheap liow and 8GB still above 100 bucks -.- I can tell you until now I still haven’t own a thumbdrive yet

Haha, you reminded me of my Super Pendrive and Super Nikon Lit-ion Battery. Being soaked in soap water for almost 10 hour and yet they are 100% perfect and functioning… LOL…

This is for your precaution from buying fake stuff at the cheap price considering you’ll pay a little bit more to own a genuine good quality product. The reason why Pcdepot is selling so darn cheap is because some of the product they carry is not 100% genuine especially Kingston related products. You should know how great those China people imitate Kingston pendrive. Beware.

Never try to buy from there.

for thumb drive, i didn’t get any of them, i have my external 160gb hdd, that is already enough for me. the main thing is, i seldom use thumb drive. that’s why i didnt get one in the first place.
